Bono donates famous sunglasses to charity auction

Bono, the charismatic lead singer of U2, is widely known for both his humanitarian work around the world and his iconic sunglasses. The Evening Herald reports that this past weekend he combined the two, donating a pair of his legendary shades to a charity auction held in support of an Irish hospice.

An organizer at the event, Hayley Rock, is a hostess who has become close with Bono in recent years. She told the news provider that getting him to participate was not difficult.

"I would know him from being in the club so much and we have built up a very good relationship over the years," Rock told the news source. "He was more than happy to help us out by giving a pair of his sunglasses, which was so nice of him."

Those looking to emulate the look of one of music's most famous frontmen can consider donning a pair of Bono-esque sunglasses of their own. The American Optometric Association states that sunglasses should block 99 to 100 percent of UV rays along with 75 to 90 percent of visible light.ADNFCR-3386-ID-19926179-ADNFCR
